About this room

Welcome to The Pilots’ Rest. This large ensuite room in Diseworth Village is a bright and private top-floor room that is perfect for pilots and cadets in training.

Super quiet, this modern cosy space features a double bed, desk, comfortable chair, TV, and a full-size 737-800 cockpit cut-out. Room views are of the quiet village centre.

You’ll have shared access to the kitchen, dining area, and peaceful garden. The family comes and goes, so you’ll enjoy a good balance of privacy and connection. A great base to relax, recharge, and feel at home while training or working.

Use of fridge, washing machine, cooker, oven, microwave, toaster, and kettle and dedicated storage spaces in the kitchen, including a drawer in the freezer.

Shorter stays of 5 or 6 nights are charged at £50 per night, with a reduction to £280 per week for longer stays. Minimum stay is 5 nights.

The village pub, which serves food, is just a 3-minute walk away. There are also many food outlets in nearby Castle Donington, many offering delivery.

The village bus stop is just a 5-minute walk from the property. East Midlands Airport is also within walking distance, taking less than 30 mins. Perfect on a nice sunny day!

Absolutely brilliant room, contains a large cutout of the B737-800 aircraft that can be used to practice procedures as well as an understanding of where different systems and located and they interlink. Very large room with a comfy bed aswell as a large bathroom and big desk. Great value for money. Overall brilliant place to stay.

I highly recommend staying here. I spent my Ground School period in this house, and it was the perfect choice. The house is spacious, modern, and incredibly comfortable. The room is large, comes with a private bathroom, and the Boeing 737 mock-up station is impressive—very spacious and professionally set up, making it ideal for training. The town is very quiet and is located very close to the airport. There is a bus to the airport every hour, but I personally preferred walking. It only takes about 15 minutes, and the route is safe, peaceful, and has very little traffic. Simon is an excellent host. He is always available and happy to help with anything you need. I honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place to stay, and I would highly recommend it to anyone coming here for training.

I highly recommend this place; I really appreciated the room, which allows you to be fully immersed in the training. The training center is a 25‑minute walk away, so it’s an ideal location if you don’t want to rely on the bus, I definitely recommend it.

The house and homeowners were really nice. The room was really big and clean, with everything you need accounted for. If you have any questions, the homeowners are more than willing to help. The neighbourhood was really quiet, so you could relax in between Sims. I would really recommend this place!

I had a fantastic stay with Simon and could not have asked for a better place during my time there. Simon was an excellent host, friendly, helpful, and very respectful of personal space, which made the whole experience extremely comfortable from start to finish.
The house is absolutely gorgeous, very modern, beautifully maintained, and with a lovely garden that makes the place feel peaceful and welcoming. The room itself was extremely comfortable, and having a mock-up setup available was honestly a game changer for me.
One of the biggest advantages of the property is the location. It’s only about a 15-minute walk from both the airport and the training centre, which made daily life incredibly easy and stress-free.
Overall, this was one of the best places I’ve stayed. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully prepared, and I would highly recommend Simon’s place to anyone looking for high-quality accommodation in the area.
